The roots of Highland’s “data traceability” standard in quality testing go back to the 1970s, when our aerospace work required us to comply with NASA and Department of Defense standards. That placed us in a perfect position to take up the rigorous job of quality-testing auto airbag fabrics to make sure they retain critical physical properties after long-term exposure to environmental conditions.

To test and certify all our products, Highland has made significant investments in our people and equipment. We custom-tailor our testing protocols to meet each customer’s specific needs. That often includes ASTM, JIS, DIN, ISO and other testing standards and revolves around the use of either a Greige Fabric Specification Sheet or a Finished Fabric Specification Sheet. When established testing methods aren’t good enough, or where a customer has developed an internal test method, Highland will work with the customer to establish a new working test procedure.
